A fitting is not a transaction.
It is an evening.
In Napa, an evening has a certain shape. It slows down. A glass is poured, and no one rushes to drain it. The light changes from afternoon gold to something softer. Conversation finds its depth. This is the pace we work at. Not because we are slow — because we are deliberate.
Many of our clients come from the Bay Area — San Francisco, Marin, the Peninsula — and we encourage them to make the fitting the anchor of a day in the valley. The drive is part of it. So is everything that follows.
The Conversation.
Every garment begins the same way: a conversation, usually over a glass of something good. We want to know where you're going. What you're stepping into. What feels like you and what never has. That conversation can happen here in Napa — or we can come to you.
We take measurements, yes — but first we take the measure of the occasion. Because a suit built for the wrong moment, however beautifully made, is a suit that doesn't quite land.
The Cloth.
We pair fabric with season — and with wine. Cabernet with autumn worsteds. Chardonnay with summer linens. There are hundreds of cloths available from the mills we trust.
The same instinct that guides a winemaker through a barrel selection guides us through a cloth selection: patience, specificity, and the willingness to keep looking until something is genuinely right. We'll narrow them to a handful that make sense for your life, and then we'll narrow those together.
The Arrival.
Four to six weeks later — twelve for the more complex pieces — the garment arrives. We fit it, adjust where the body has opinions, and send you on your way.
What happens after that is not our business — except that it is, because we built the suit for it.
Wear it well. Arrive fully.
The Valley.
The fitting is an hour, maybe ninety minutes. The valley deserves more than that.
We've spent years here — eating in these dining rooms, exploring the back roads, building relationships with the estates and restaurants that make Napa what it is. We partner with a number of them throughout the valley, and we keep curated wine selections in both showrooms for exactly this reason.
If you'd like to add some depth to your day — a table somewhere worth sitting at, a tasting that doesn't feel like a tour — ask us. We're happy to point you toward our favorites. Think of it as part of the service.
The suit is the artifact.
The evening is the point.
